Slaughter and Processing

Slaughter Line

An integral part of our poultry processing facility is the transportation of live birds from farm to slaughterhouse that counts the most. The systems and equipment used varies depending upon the environment, general preferences and the size and accessibility of our broiler farm. In recent times we have moved to the transportation of live chicken in modules, this system has enormous welfare benefits, reductions in damage and mortality as well as significant cost savings..

Lehae Farm chicken processing equipment are manufactured and supplied as a complete range of equipment and systems that produces high quality plucked chicken. This process starts with the hanging of live birds into stainless steel shackles, suspended from an overhead conveyor system. After slaughter, birds must be bled for a period of time prior to entering a scalding system. The scalding system is specifically designed to loosen bird feathers prior to plucking. Once scalded, chickens pass through the automatic plucking machines where feathers are removed

Lehae Farm is committed to provide chicken with a comprehensive and efficient hygiene quality control management, we ensure Personnel Hygiene and Access Control, innovative Open Surface Hygiene equipment, specialty Food Surface Treatment products, Hygiene Monitoring and a unique Hygiene Management System that tracks and reports on all hygiene interventions within our facility or across the entire company.

Good evisceration is essential for safeguarding the quality of our end products, including giblets. Lehae Farm Poultry Processing’s evisceration technology removes the complete viscera pack in a single operation. It is then either separated immediately from the carcass and transferred to a separate shackle or is positioned over the back of the product for manual removing, giving major benefits in terms of hygiene and quality.
